Do you fap to your own 'creations'?
Something I pondered about while in the shower. Creations is in the quote-thing because I include manips and such as well.

Personally when I'm thinking up scenarios/while I'm starting to manip I can get aroused, but by the time I'm done manipping the desire isn't there anymore. The same goes for longer translations as well, which is a problem because I want to understand something hot but after you put in the effort to do so I don't feel like it anymore.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Sometimes if it's something no one else has done before.
Seeing as it's me, that's a little more often than you think :P

Well I write fics but I usual get more pleasure out of the idea before I write it . I just feel strange and uncomfortable looking at what I've made.

Now I know a few proof readers have gotten off to my stuff after they edited them.

When I'm making a manip I explore a lot of different looks, play around with technique, turn layers/effects on and off, and edit the text until it feels right. This is a long process where I usually put an image away for a day or so and open it again, several times.

I am jackin' it a lot during this process.

Basically I'm making the thing because I think the idea is hot, and in a way I'm making my own overly-repetitive image series as I go, variations which are of various degrees of mediocrity, but variations on something that at that very moment really pushes my buttons (which is the reason I'm making it in the first place).

After it's done and I'm "over it" then generally only my favorite stuff of mine gets any significant... attention. 10-15%.

I also feel that way when I draw. I always thought I just got bored of it. If you watch an image for 3 or 4 hours (or after seeing it a lot of times), I don't think you would be as aroused as you were at the beginning. When you are the one doing the picture you have the concept in your mind, which causes some excitement, but you eventually get bored of it after some time. Also, the mind subconsciously associates it with fatigue if it is something difficult to do. At least, that is my theory.

nope :p

maybe that bit of eternal dissatisfaction from 'knowing something is lacking, but not knowing what' is the thing causing it, lol, i just find my work hollow, though i fap to the idea behind the drawing.

Yes, I figure if I don't feel like fapping to this no one else will, so I think of something and draw it out until I feel like fapping to it and then I call it a success.
Just don't fap as you draw or you'll never finish.

I stop feeling aroused as soon as my mind thinks "okay we should turn this into a FULL picture instead of a 5 minute doodle" because then I'm too focused on the goal.

(it helps that all my drawings turn out to be horrible abominations if I spend more than 5 minutes on them, too)

The most that happens is I might feel a bit aroused by an idea. As far as my own execution of the ideas go, though, no.

Now that you mentioned it, I just tagged you as artist for your three uploads. Would be a shame if people couldn't find your stuff ^^.

@Topic: I only did a bunch of manips... but ironically enough never really fapped to them. You spend so much time working on it and are more interested in the reception you'll get... they don't really work as a fapping tool anymore afterwards.

Well, sometimes I would write my own short prose and fap and delete it. Does that count?

Sometimes, and this is one of the few forums where I would actually admit to that.

My biggest holdup in this regard is also one of my biggest insecurities as an artist - after awhile I can't for the life of me see past the nuts, bolts and flaws of any of my drawings, and rely heavily on feedback from others to validate the overall piece. Whereas I can look at someone, anyone else's artwork and immediately relax and enjoy / fap to it without being compelled to nitpick.

Most my art involves taking 3d models and sticking them in various poses and positions, and I find that planning and posing a turn on, mainly since I will be imagining the practicalities of positions etc.

When I'm actually blocking and shading and lighting, however, it becomes just another art piece.

Once it's done, and I hit the render button, I do have to find something to do with my hands, whether that's solo, or with my g/f (who is often involved in the planning procedure)
